Wealth by Design Legacy Firm, LLC was officially established on April 27, 2012, but the foundation of this work was laid years earlier through hands-on nonprofit leadership and community engagement.
Founder Annette Nicole Jones, MA had been actively involved in nonprofit development long before the firm was formed. As demand for her expertise continued to grow, the need for a formal consulting practice became clear, one capable of supporting organizations at scale and with intention.
Built From Experience
At the time the firm was launched, Annette was operating her own nonprofit organization. During that season, she identified a significant gap in services and expanded the nonprofit to include a Mental Health Rehabilitation (MHR) program, addressing critical behavioral health needs in the community.
What set that organization apart was not just its services but its funding strategy.
By intentionally developing multiple streams of income, including program revenue, contracts, grants, and service-based funding, the organization grew from zero to more than $500,000 in annual revenue. That growth created stability, allowed for expansion, and ensured the mission could be sustained without reliance on a single funding source.
This lived experience became the framework behind Wealth by Design Legacy Firm.
A Full-Circle Focus
When the firm was established, its core services were nonprofit development and Mental Health Rehabilitation (MHR) consulting, supporting MHR agencies with compliance, operations, and sustainability. Over time, the work evolved expanding into grant strategy, funding systems, and organizational scaling.
Today, the firm has come full circle returning to its roots with refined clarity and deeper impact.
We now focus exclusively on helping nonprofits and churches build organizations that are financially sound, structurally strong, and positioned for long-term success.
About the CEO
Annette Nicole Jones, MA is the CEO of Wealth by Design Legacy Firm, LLC, a nonprofit development strategist, Mental Health Therapist, and Ordained Minister with over 17 years of experience serving nonprofit founders, churches, and community organizations.
Her work sits at the intersection of strategy, sustainability, mental wellness, and purpose.
Annette’s approach is grounded in lived experience. She has not only advised nonprofits she has led one. As a nonprofit executive, she expanded the organization to include a Mental Health Rehabilitation (MHR) program and intentionally developed multiple streams of income, growing the organization from zero to more than $500,000 in annual revenue. That experience shaped her conviction that nonprofits must be built to fund both the mission and the people leading it.
Annette officially founded Wealth by Design Legacy Firm, LLC on April 27, 2012, in response to the growing demand for her expertise in nonprofit development and Mental Health Rehabilitation (MHR) consulting. Over time, her work evolved to focus on nonprofit scaling, funding strategy, and grant education supporting organizations that are ready to move beyond survival mode and into sustainable impact.
As a Mental Health Therapist, Annette understands the emotional, psychological, and relational toll nonprofit leadership can take. As an Ordained Minister, she brings a values-based, purpose-centered lens to her work helping leaders build organizations that align with both their calling and their responsibility to their families.
Today, Annette helps nonprofit leaders stop choosing between impact and income. Through strategic nonprofit development, grant strategy, and funding systems, she supports founders in building organizations that serve communities well, support family life, and create legacy-level outcomes that extend far beyond the founder.
